Connect with your deeper self and discover inner peace

Meet Jennifer Bymun, therapist in Fremont.

Serving the Bay Area and greater California.

You don't have to hold this alone

From the outside looking in, things seem to be going pretty well. Inside, you feel like you are breaking into pieces, you're exhausted, overwhelmed,  and feel alone; even with people around you. You don’t feel like the person you know yourself to be. You so badly want to have a grasp on things and feel more grounded.

I work with adults who want to create lasting change in their lives and relationships. I believe you deserve a space where you are seen for where you’ve been, embraced for who you are, and have support for where you're going. .

People that work with me learn there is nothing off limits to talk about or be curious about together. I believe when you can feel safe enough to talk about the hard stuff and are met with compassion and care, you can begin to release and heal.

Am I the right therapist for you?

I work with people who are curious and open to the process of self-exploration and motivated to challenge themselves.

Together we get down to the root of the problem and bring to the surface the cycles you may be stuck in. I will provide you with tools and strategies to challenge these patterns.

You will hear me say things like “what do you think about trying out a little experiment this week?” Low pressure exercises in bits that feel like the right amount for you help you put what we discuss into practice and move towards your larger goals and the life you want to be living.

More about me

I have a decade of experience working with individuals and families experiencing tough life circumstances and navigating challenging relationships and transitions. I am a perinatal mental health certified therapist with experience working in the healthcare system supporting individuals and families managing the unique ups and downs of pregnancy, parenting, and loss.

My early experiences and my own challenges transitioning to becoming a mother are what brought me here where I enjoy supporting you throughout your journey of  healing and growth. I understand the pain and unraveling that significant life events can bring up, and the importance of knowing you have support in your corner as you go through it.

My professional and personal  history weave together and give  me  a unique ability to truly see you and hold your experiences deeply with compassion and understanding. I am able to harbor hope and strength even in moments when you cannot do it for yourself, because I know that healing and relief are possible.

My core values and commitments to you

Transparency

I will be honest with you even when it's uncomfortable. I believe this is a pillar to a safe and healthy relationship.

Cultural humility

I am committed to a lifelong process of self-reflection and self-criticism around my own race, power, and privilege and how these manifest themselves in the work I do, in my relationships, within my community, and in the larger systems I interact with. I create a space where I engage with you with curiosity not assumptions and I am committed to learning from my mistakes.

Safety

I know that your trust is earned and not assumed to be given. I will always strive to hold a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard. While the therapy process can be uncomfortable at times, I will never push you to move faster than you are ready for.

Growth

I am committed to being a lifelong learner and the ongoing process of reflection and furthering my education to best support you.

Modeling

Our relationship models a healthy relationship for you to practice new skills and feel safe to do so.

Openness

Just as I ask you to be open and curious to the process, I am open, approachable, and welcome feedback.

You can feel more grounded as you ride the waves of life.

Like the ocean, life brings waves of different sizes and magnitudes. While we may not be able to change aspects of your current situation or what happened to you, I do believe that you can learn strategies to feel more supported and confident to manage the waves as they come.
